Rongoa Maori
Health Blossoms is based in Motueka surrounded by the Tasman Sea and three beautiful national parks, Nelson Lakes, Kahurangi, and Abel Tasman. Its Maori iwi are Ngati Rarua and Te Atiawa. With a wealth of natural flora and fauna on our doorstep we are delighted to be able to offer 17 native herbal medicines, a form of rongoa or maori medicine, when appropriate. These herbs are all sustainably cultivated or wildcrafted, and offer valuable therapeutic actions based on traditional and clinical evidence.
Whenever appropriate, native medicinal plants such as akeake, hoheria, manuka, kawakawa, kumerahou, tanekaha, karamu, horopito, and koromiko are used in treatment plans. They have benefits for a wide range of health complaints such as skin conditions, digestive disorders, mental health problems, heart conditions and many more. If you have a particular interest in this please mention it at your first consultation.
